The Vale-Gás benefit was created by the Federal Government for low-income families. The social project reached at least 6 million families who face financial need, which is why they fit into the group.

The Vale Gás benefit

The program is paid every two months by the Federal Government, the value of the benefit is equivalent to half the value of the 13kg gas cylinder.

It is worth remembering that the price calculated for this percentage is based on the average price of the cylinder.

Therefore, this price is determined by the Price Survey System of the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels Agency in the last six months. In short, the amount sent to the beneficiary will be studied, analyzed and defined by the ANP. For example: if gas cost R$104.00 in the last six months, the aid will be R$52.00.

Who is entitled to the benefit?

Even though the benefit has already reached thousands of families, it is important to remember that it is exclusively for the population living at the extreme poverty line. To obtain the right to Vale Gás you must be within the following conditions:

  • Families whose members are women victims of domestic violence and who are being accompanied by protective measures on an urgent basis;
  • Families registered in CadÚnico with per capita income equal to or less than R$606.00;
  • Families that have members living in the same house and who benefit from BPC
    where they receive a salary of R$1,212.00;
  • Elderly people over 65 years of age who prove that they are unable to provide for themselves in addition to family members.

How long will Vale Gás be offered?

The program regulations state that it is offered to beneficiaries for five continuous years, payments are made every two months and amounts may vary according to each season.

How to request the benefit?

To request the benefit, the family must be registered with CadÚnico. But if not, just go to a Social Assistance Reference Center (CRAS) closest to you with the following documents:

  • Birth or marriage certificate;
  • ID or CPF;
  • Work card or voter registration card;
  • Administrative Register of Indigenous Birth (RANI), for indigenous people.
